Many of the posts will be about role-playing games, and a bit of context about the games I’m talking about might help. So here’s a quick summary of some of the current and recent campaigns where I am (or have been) a GM or player that might come up.
Masks of Nyarlathotep
I am Keeping the classic Call of Cthulhu campaign using the 7th Edition rules and the 5th Edition of Masks of Nyarlathotep. We are currently in the England chapter, and the investigators are:
- Anton (Tony) Fischer – Stage Magician from New York.
- Charles Arthur Michael Barrington-Smythe – Librarian at the Wren Collection, Cambridge University.
- Marie Anne Beaufort – Socialite and Scientist from Bordeaux.
- Rosa Maria Cabellos – Former (?) Mob Enforcer from New York.
- Capt Rupert Ainsley – Served in North Africa, now organises Safari Expeditions from London.
- Dr Tara Kapoor – Pathologist and Consultant with the Metropolitan Police.
Wild Beyond the Witchlight
The 5th Edition Dungeons and Dragons campaign in which I play Bastian Weaver, a human wizard. I’m exploring the assertion that the campaign can be completed without violence, and Bastian has essentially zero combat ability. We have currently completed the first chapter of Wild Beyond the Witchlight.
Twilight 2000
An occasional campaign using Free League’s recent version of Twilight 2000. I’m playing Dr Kazmer Wojcik, who is was manager of a health centre before the War, and is not trying to rebuild a community.
Eberron Campaign
Home campaign set in Eberron, where I play Gage d’Cannith. She’s an artificer and agent of House Cannith, obsessed with recovering the lost art of creating warforged.
The Skyship Redemption
A previous 5th Edition Dungeons and Dragons campaign I ran where the player characters had all raised a large sum of cash to purchase a share in a skyship to explore a world of islands floating in the sky. The main player characters were:
- Alexov Illyvych – Elven Warlock – whose patron provided a stash of ancient coins for his share.
- Lucian – Human Rogue – who mortgaged someone else’s house to pay his share.
- Tabitha – Halfling Rogue – who borrowed some money from her ‘business associates’.
- Tiziana – Human Sorceress – posing as ‘Zdekno’ a young elf, since she took her dowry and fled an arranged marriage.
- Perun Landowski – Elven Bard – who funded his share int he ship with an advance from the Shipwright’s Guild
- Picrite – Dwarven Cleric – who hears the voice of his ancestor spirits, and they told him to take some money destined to pay a blood debt and buy a share in the ship.
- Keryth – Elven (?) Rogue – who won his share in a totally legitimate game of cards.
